About the course

If you are working at height and/or supervising those that do, then you’ll need to know how to use safety harnesses correctly. Here at SRP Training, we provide outstanding training for construction industry professionals who use or inspect safety harnesses as part of their role on-site. The course is just ½ a day in length, making it ideal for those with even the busiest schedules. To get the most out of your training, choose a date where you aren’t going to be rushed, so you can arrive at our training centre free of any stress.

Course contents

Before you take part in the course, it’s a great idea to look at the topics you can expect to cover. Our Safety Harness course may be one of the shorter ones that we offer, but there is so much content packed into that time. You will get to grips with the following concepts when you learn with us:

• How to summarise the work at height regulations and associated legislation, and be fully aware of their legal responsibilities
• How to select the correct work equipment and restraint systems to help prevent falls from height thus reducing risk to themselves and others
• How to carry out inspections of equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose
• How to confidently select and don a harness correctly

Some people like to do their research before attending, while others prefer to get started on the day. There’s no right or wrong answer, as our tutors provide course attendees with all the support that they need.

Before you arrive

During the course, you will learn how to correctly choose a harness and then put it on – so we do recommend wearing clothes that are comfortable and easy to move around in. You don’t need to don any specialist clothing or bring any equipment, we will supply you with all of the course materials that you need. We just ask that you turn up with plenty of enthusiasm to learn!
