About the course
First of all: what does the course cover, and who is it for? The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme is a health and safety course that is backed by the Construction Industry Training Board – otherwise known as (CITB). This course is for you if you plan to work in a supervisory role on-site. During your 2 days of learning with us, you will cover the following:
- Your legal responsibilities while working as a site supervisor
- Common health and safety challenges faced by site supervisors in your field
- Supervision of occupational health in the role
- How to carry out risk assessments and implement control measures on site
- How the Health and Safety at Work Act applies to your job
- Monitoring behavioural safety on site
Working on a building site comes with a number of risks and reducing those wherever possible has become a priority in the industry. That’s why the SSSTS course is so important. It will equip you with all the knowledge you need to keep yourself and your team safe on-site.

You will be assessed throughout the course, and you will take an exam at the end to prove you understand the core concepts presented to you. So, revision is key! Study materials

You will need to do some self-study outside of the course – but this will always be explained clearly by your tutor. They will also be able to point you in the direction of online resources such as mock tests. These will be laid out in the same way as the multiple-choice exam you take at the end of the course and are a great tool to aid in your revision.
