What is the CSCS card?

For anyone planning to work in the UK construction industry, you must bee a CSCS cardholder to enable you to work in this field.

CSCS stands for Construction Skills Certification Scheme and is the most recognised skills certificate within the UK construction industry. Once you have obtained a CSCS card your name will be kept on an industry database as a person working in the construction industry with recognised training up to current industry standards.

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) originally set up the CSCS training scheme to help raise and maintain training and working knowledge standards within the construction industry. Once you have completed the course you will be issued with the CSCS card as proof that you have achieved the required standards of training for UK construction employers to hire you.

Your CSCS card will have your photograph on it and your designated training such as labourer, skilled worker, advanced worker or advanced craft. The CSCS card will need to be renewed and you can do this by taking a refresher training course to update your skills and demonstrate that your training is up to date.

For anyone new to the construction industry, you can complete a one-day health & safety course along with your CSCS CITB Computer Test, which is a requirement for you to obtain a CSCS card and a Traffic Marshall 1/2 Day Banksman Training Course with SRP Training.

You can find the details of the one day combined skills training course on our website. SRP Training conduct these specialised training days every week. You can book your course online and then you will receive a call from our team to confirm your course date and time.
